Andy Prieboy

Andy Prieboy ( born April 17, 1955 in Los Angeles, California ) is a musician, author, and former morgue watchman.

Life and career

Prieboy grew up in Chicago, Indiana. Earlier in his career Prieboy replaced Stan Ridgway as lead singer of the band "Wall of Voodoo". He left the band in 1983. Seven Days In Town Sammy was the first Wall of Voodoo album with Prieboy.

After leaving the band Prieboy had a contract as a songwriter signed with MCA Music Publishing. He began to work on his first solo album. This album Upon My Wicked Son, included the song Tomorrow Wendy, where it's about a woman who dies of AIDS. Prieboy sang this song as a duet with Johnette Napolitano, whose band Concrete Blonde released the song on their album Bloodletting. It was also used by the industrial project in System Syn early 2000s. Linda Ronstadt and Emmylou Harris used his song " Loving the Highway Man" from the same album. Prieboy was later released an EP called Montezuma. Prieboys second solo album called Sins of Our Fathers.

From the mid to late 1990s played Prieboy on the Los Angeles hipsters Club Largo with Rita D' Albert in the musical White Trash Wins Lotto. This was about the rise and fall of Axl Rose. It was also listed on the Roxy Theatre on the Sunset Strip. Prieboy and his crew did a medley of White Trash in the Conan O'Brien show.

Andy Prieboy is also the co -author of the novel by Merrill Markoe 's The Psycho Ex, based on senem song "Psycho Ex".

Prieboy 1991 sang the theme song On the Road Again for the Chuck Norris movie The Hitman. His hit Far " Side of Crazy" is played in the movie " Head Office ". His demo for the song "You Talk", which also appeared on the album Upon My Wicked Son, as well as other unreleased demos were played to the Brad Pitt film " Cutting Class ". A few of his songs were played in the movie Blood and Concrete.

In 2012 published Prieboy four songs to download EP "Every Lady Gets A Song", with accompaniment by the former bassist Tony Kinman and drummer David Kendrick.

Since 2009 Prieboy lives in Los Angeles.
