Ángeles Mastretta

Ángeles Mastretta ( born October 9, 1949 in Puebla, Mexico) is a Mexican poet and novelist.

Life

Mastretta Ph.D. in Communication Sciences at the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México and worked until 1985 as an editor in radio, television and in several magazines. She is married, has two children and lives in Mexico City.

Her first book was published in 1975 the book of poems La pájara pinta. Since then, followed by several novels. Mexican Tango, women with big eyes, Emilia and husbands were translated into German. For " Mexican Tango" was awarded the prestigious literary prize Premio Mazatlán, for " Emilia " she was the first woman the Rómulo Gallegos Prize -.
