Angelo Motta

Angelo Motta ( born September 8, 1890 in Gessate, † December 26, 1957 in Milan ) was an Italian entrepreneur. He is the founder of the Italian food business Motta, which was bought by Nestle in 1993.

Beginning of the 20th century drew Motta to Milan, where he ran his first bakery in 1919. Motta was one of the first industrial manufacturer of the Panettone Christmas cookies. In 1948 he began to produce ice with his company. The listed Gran Café in Zurich was transformed along the lines of the first Motta Caffè Bar Milano in 1928 and reopened under the name Gran Café Motta in May 2010.
