Angelo Musone

Angelo Musone ( born September 19, 1963 in Naples) is a former Italian boxer. Musone was bronze medalist of the Olympic Games 1984.

Career

Amateur

1982 Musone Italian Junior Champion ( U19) in the heavyweight ( 81 kg ), however, came at the Junior European Championships not go beyond the quarter-finals.

In the Mediterranean Games in 1983 he won second place in the newly established Super Heavyweight ( 91 kg ) and at the World Cup in the same year in Rome the third place. The following year, Musone for Italy participated in the Olympics and arrived after victories over James Omondi, Kenya (5:0), Marvin Perez, Bolivia ( where), and Hakan Brock, Sweden (5-0 ), surprisingly the semi-finals, which he, however, against the eventual Olympic gold medalist Henry Tillman, U.S. 5-0 ), lost and thus won the Olympic bronze medal.

Professional

In the same year moved Musone into the professional business and made his professional debut on 13 October 1984 against the Congolese Lutshadi Mudimbi, which he won by KO in the 5th round. Until 1987 he remained unbeaten in 20 fights, where he among other things, Leon Spinks beat by knockout in the seventh round before he was beaten in his 21 fight by Steve Mormino by knockout in the sixth round and then finished his career.

Later Musone works as a point - and referee for the IBF.
