The Angermuende Station is a transportation hub in the north- east of Brandenburg. Opened on November 15, 1842 Station is on the railway line between Berlin and Szczecin and is the starting point of the Angermuende - Stralsund railway to Stralsund, the Angermuende - Schwedt Schwedt and railway to a disused branch railway to Bad Freiwalde.

History

The station was opened on 15 November 1842 by the Berlin- Stettin Railway Company ( bust ) with the distance from Berlin. On August 15, 1843, the extension to Szczecin went into operation. In the following years, the station developed with the opening of routes to Stralsund (1863 ), Schwedt (1873 ) and Bad Freiwalde (1877 ) to a major hub. In 1879, the bust was taken over by the Prussian state railways. The station was initially created as an island station, the station building stood between the railway tracks. In 1906, the tracks were redesigned and relocated all the tracks on the west side of the building. Already in 1861, the original station building was replaced by a new building. The old building later served as a post office and a police station and was not used since the early 1990s. The building was demolished in November 2011. Its forecourt is now used as car and bicycle parking.

Facilities

The Angermuende station is located just west of the center of Angermuende. The station building is located east of the tracks. The station consists of two island platforms with four tracks for passenger, at the northern end of the western platform, there is an additional head track. To the north of the passenger station located close to the facilities for freight. The route to Schwedt branches directly from the platform area of the other routes, with the result that the trains can only use the tracks 1 and 2 to Schwedt.
