Anglefort

Anglefort is a commune in the French department of Ain, in the Rhône -Alpes.

Geography

Anglefort is located at 251 m above sea level. M., six kilometers south of Seyssel and about 24 kilometers west of the town of Annecy (air line). The village extends into the broad Talniederung the Rhone, west of the river, between the ridges of Grand Colombier in the west and Montagne du Gros Foug the east.

History

The territory of Anglefort was already inhabited during the Roman period, which could be evidenced by the discovery of graves from this period.
