Anglican Church in Japan

The Nippon Be Ko Kai (Japanese日本圣公会Nippon Seikōkai, literally: Saints, public meeting in Japan ) is a member church of the Anglican Communion and is limited to the territory of Japan.

Its origins lie in the missions of the 19th century and went from the U.S. and had already in 1923 its first local bishop.

Today the Church Province Japan counts (日本管区, Nippon Kanku ) 11 dioceses ( Chubu, Hokkaido, northern Kanto ( Kitakanto ), Kobe, Kyoto, Kyushu, Okinawa, Osaka, Tohoku, Tokyo, Yokohama ) and its own primate, which is currently Nathaniel Makoto Uematsu is. It currently has approximately 57000 members at her (as of 2006).
