Ankh: Heart of Osiris

Ankh: Heart of Osiris is the continuation of the published 2005 3D point-and -click adventure Ankh and second part of the series. It was developed by German developer Deck 13 team, which formerly bore the name Artex Software. Like the previous uses Ankh: Heart of Osiris the free graphics engine OGRE.

Action

Since the end of his last adventure, it is the young Assil not fared well: His relationship with Thara has gone to pieces, and to make matters worse it the Ankh was also stolen by nasty assassins. Also, Osiris is still behind him, but still lacks power for obtaining the final one: his heart. This reach in front of him is now Assils task. Parallel to this main plot and partly interwoven with it the fate of Pharaoh and Tharas be illuminated. The former has fallen victim to a conspiracy and must now toil as a slave in one of his own quarries. Thara it has, however, made ​​the goal to steal a football trophy and so to embarrass the Pharaoh.

Game concept

Like its predecessor, is Ankh: Heart of Osiris a linear structure without Action Adventure deposits. It is aimed at Adventure newcomers as well as professionals. The main character is Assil by simply clicking with the mouse from one point to another or moves acts as with people or objects. For dialogs can be selected by multiple choice, what is the character of himself. The dialogs are displayed as in a movie with black bars at the top and bottom of the screen. The camera pans alternately between the two actors back and forth. Later in the game, the player takes over the control Tharas or Pharaoh.

Synchronization

The lovely setting of the second part has been successfully implemented in the third part. As a well-known actors are back Oliver Rohrbeck Assil as well as to hear Thomas Dannenberg.

Others

Instead of copy protection included with game a so-called code disc, as it was found in the older LucasArts Monkey Adventures Iceland 1 and 2.

Just like during the second part, the distribution has ixsoft announced the ported by RuneSoft game for Linux to publish, if received at least 250 pre-orders until the end of October 2007. This was until a month later reached, with pooling of pre-orders from ixsoft and Tux Games but it will still be released as planned as possible in December 2007.
