Ann Roth

Ann Roth (born 30 October 1931 in Hanover, Pennsylvania ) is an American costume designer.

Life

The daughter of a farmer Following her degree in design at Carnegie Mellon University of Pittsburgh in 1953 first as a scenery painter at the Pittsburgh Opera, before they got the chance in 1957, assistant costume designer Irene Sharaff to be on Broadway. In 1958 they paid themselves from numerous Broadway productions and was nominated 1976-1986 as a costume designer for the Tony Award three times. Since the mid- 1960s, she also works for Hollywood productions.

Ann Roth won the 1997 Academy Award for Best Costume designer for The English Patient. Besides, she was still three times for a one square in the heart (1985 ), The Talented Mr. Ripley (2000) and The Hours - Nominated by eternity to eternity ( 2003). 1975 Roth received the British Film Award for The Day of the Locust. In 2003, she was honored with the Hollywood Discovery Award for her life's work.
