Anna Leszczyńska (1699–1717)

Anna Leszczyńska ( born May 25, 1699 Poland, † June 20, 1717 in Zweibrücken) was a princess from the Polish noble family of Leszczyńskis.

Anna was the eldest daughter of the Polish- Lithuanian king and later Duke of Lorraine Stanisław Leszczynski and his wife Countess Katharina Opalinska, daughter of magnate January Opaliński Karol and his wife Zofia Czarnkowska. Her younger sister Maria Leszczyńska married in 1725 the French king Louis XV.

Anna Leszczyńska is a biographer of her father characterizes as "beautiful and talented ", spent her childhood until 1707 at Castle Rydzyna in Greater Poland and then in exile. She died on 20 June 1717 surprise in Zweibrücken and was buried the next day in the abbey church Gräfinthal, a favorite residence of the family. Her father donated over the grave of an Anne altar, and called 1749 a Anniversarium (measuring Foundation ) in order. Archaeological investigations in 2006 were found in the ruins of the monastery church Gräfinthal references to the funeral of a young woman of high social position.
