Annales iuvavenses

As Salzburg annals refers historiographical records of the Bavarian-Austrian period from the 8th to the 10th century.

The oldest records are the Annales Iuvavenses antiqui that began around 830 and continued later to 842 or 976. Together with the resulting 1150 Annals, which are preserved in the Codex Admonter, they form the Annales maximi Iuvavenses that are central sources for the early Austro-Bavarian history.

The Annales Sancti Rupert finally been created in the late 12th century St. Peter's Abbey in Salzburg. They contain the previous records, start own business in 1180, ends in 1286 and were later continued to write until 1327.
