Anne of Bohemia, Duchess of Silesia

Anne of Bohemia ( Czech Lehnická Anna, Anna also Přemyslovna; * 1201/1204; † August 26, 1265 ) was Duchess of Silesia.

Life

Anne of Bohemia came from the Přemyslovci. She was the daughter of the Bohemian King Ottokar I. Přemysl and Constance of Hungary. 1217 she married Henry the Pious, Duke of Silesia and Duke of Poland.

After her husband's death in 1241, Anna took over from Bohemia to the majority of her eldest son Boleslaw II the regency over the Duchy of Silesia.

1242 she founded together with her son Boleslaw II the monastery Grüssau. They also donated a Minoritenkloster and modeled after her younger sister, the Saint Agnes of Bohemia, the Poor Clare Monastery in Wroclaw.
