Anne Twomey

Anne Twomey ( born June 7, 1951 in Boston, Massachusetts ) is an American actress.

Life

Twomey began her acting career in the theater. In 1980, she played the lead role in the original production of the drama Nuts, which was filmed in 1987 with Barbra Streisand. For her portrayal Twomey was nominated for the Tony Award and won the Theatre World Award. Subsequently, she starred in the Broadway production of To Grandmother 's House We Go. In 1983 she was nominated for her performance in the Off- Broadway production of Vieux Caree Drama Desk Award. The following year, she starred in the award- an Obie Award Off- Broadway production of The Vampires. In 1989, she appeared in Tennessee Williams' Orpheus Descending on Broadway.

From 1984, Twomey also received film and television roles. Her first engagements included a guest appearance in an episode of the sitcom The Cosby Show, other guest roles she played among others in the television series The Twilight Zone and Magnum. Made her feature film debut, she had in Wes Craven horror film Deadly Friend on the side of Matthew Laborteaux and Kristy Swanson. In Donald P. Bellisarios thriller Last Rites, she starred opposite Tom Berenger and Daphne Zuniga. In the 1990s she had a recurring guest role as Linda Salerno in the series LA Law - Star lawyers, tricks, processes, and starred in the TV movie remake of Alfred Hitchcock's Rear Window alongside Christopher Reeve and Daryl Hannah. Another major supporting role she had in the courtroom drama The Confession - The Confession opposite Ben Kingsley and Alec Baldwin. Between 2000 and 2001 she played Catherine Zambrano in the series Third Watch - use the limit.

Twomey is married to actor John Bedford Lloyd since 1986 and has two children.
