Anner Bylsma

Anner Bylsma (originally Anne Bijlsma; born February 17, 1934 in The Hague) is a Dutch cellist who specializes in music in historical performance practice. He uses it both modern cellos as well as those in historical design.

Life

Anner Bylsma received his first lessons from his father. He studied from 1950 to 1955 at Carel van Boonkamp at the Royal Conservatory of The Hague. In 1957 he won the Prix d'excellence.

Anner Bylsma From 1958 worked as a solo cellist at the Nederlandse Opera. In 1959 he won the Pablo Casals competition in Mexico. From 1962 on, he spent six years as principal cellist of the Concertgebouw Orchestra. In 1970 he became a lecturer at the conservatories of Amsterdam and The Hague. As a guest lecturer, he is the Berlin University of the Arts, the Paris Conservatory and the Juilliard School connected. Anner Bylsma is married by a marriage with Lucy van Dael with the violinist Vera Beths.

With Vera Beths, violist Jürgen Kussmaul and - if required - other musicians to form the ensemble L' Archibudelli that lists string music on period instruments.
