Anophthalmia
Under anophthalmia ( from Greek ἀν - on, see alpha privative, and ὄφθαλμος ophthalmos "eye" ) is defined as the congenital absence of the eye plant. A unilateral anophthalmia is called Monophthalmie ( monocular vision ).
It often occurs when relatively Patau Syndrome ( Trisomy 13 ), in Fraser syndrome and holoprosencephaly.
