Another Year (film)

Another Year is a British film directed by Mike Leigh from the year 2010.

Action

The film is divided into four chapters: Spring, summer, autumn and winter. He says one year in the life of the married couple Tom and Gerri. The two are early 60's, Tom worked as a geologist and Gerri as a psychologist; the 30 -year-old son Joe is a lawyer. The couple lived in loving harmony. Together they work on the weekends in their allotment and take care of the problems of their nearest fellow human beings. Above all there is Mary, the support is looking at her colleague Gerri. Mary is in his early 50s, divorced and lonely. Desperately looking for a partner for life. The unmarried Joe becomes the object of her desire, but she runs into the emotional void in all its overtures. The nice Joe is for Mary obsession greater their alcohol consumption. In the fall of Joe finally makes his girlfriend Katie in front of the parents. When Mary realizes that she has no chance with Joe, makes his girlfriend bad at Gerri. This leads to the break between the two women. As the winter dies the wife of Tom's brother Ronnie, Tom, Gerri and Joe go to the funeral in the hometown of Toms. Tom persuades Ronnie to take some time for them to London. While Tom and Gerri are working in the garden, the older brother is sitting at home alone. On this day comes for the first time after 3 months Mary unannounced visit. It recognizes in the widower Ronnie a good friend. The film ends when dining at the home of Tom and Gerri.
