Ansel Elgort

Ansel Elgort ( born March 14, 1994 New York City ) is an American actor.

Life and career

Ansel Elgort was born in March 1994 in New York City, the son of Grethe Barrett Holby and Arthur Elgort. His father came from from a aschkenasimisch Jewish family, while his mother is of English, German and Norwegian descent. He has two older siblings Warren and Sophie. At age nine, his mother enrolled him at the School of American Ballet. Elgort attended the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School and Stagedoor Manor summer camp. In high school, he starred in the theater production of Guys and Dolls. He received since the age of 12 acting lessons.

His debut in 2013, in the horror film Carrie, which is a remake of the same movie from the year 1976, when Tommy Ross. Then he will be seen twice next to Shailene Woodley. The first time was in March 2014 in the science-fiction film Divergent - The provision, where he took over the role of Caleb Prior, the brother of Woodleys movie character " Tris ".
