To this genus belongs the domestic goose as domesticated form of the gray goose, partially genetically mixed with the bumps goose, which again is itself a cultivated form of the swan goose.

Appearance

All belonging to the genus of the field geese are large birds with short legs and a long neck. The beak is strong and at the root of almost as high as long. The jaw edges are slightly bulged, so that the lamella-shaped teeth are visible from the outside. The beak nail is very large and goes across the entire width of the beak. The nostrils are located approximately in the middle of the beak.

On the neck the feathers are on tight. They are somewhat elongated and are arranged such that the neck seems somewhat ridged. The wings are long and pointed. The third primary feather is the longest swing spring. The tail has 16-20 on springs.
