Anson Funderburgh

Anson Funderburgh (* November 15, 1954 in Plano, Texas) is an American blues guitarist. He is known especially with his band Anson Funderburgh & the Rockets.

Funderburghs models were blues greats like Freddie King, Jimmy Reed and Albert Collins. Early on he played in the clubs of Dallas. In 1978 he founded the Rockets.

From 1986 until his death in 2006 was Sam Myers singer and harmonica player of the band. Through this collaboration, a high-energy blend of Texas blues and Delta blues was born.

In 1989 and 1990 Mike Judge played bass for the Rockets, who later became the inventor of Beavis and Butt-Head and King of the Hill.
