Antakalnis

Antakalnis (Eng. "place on hills ', Polish Antokol ) is a district of Vilnius. It is geographically the second largest district of the city.

Geography

Antakalnis located in the northeast of the city and on the left bank of the river Neris.

Culture and sights

In Antakalnis is the Church of St. Peter and Paul. The historically significant Antakalnio kapines ( Antakalnis cemetery ), where, among other victims of Vilnius Bloody Sunday are buried, is also in the district.
