(Ala = forest, lava = long) The Swiss project was initiated by Erich Steiner. The main reason for this was that the animal and plant life in Madagascar is unique in that Madagascar has separated early from Africa. The rain forest, however, is increasingly being cut down, which can not grow new plants more to the forest clearings. In addition, there are 10 world Küstenurwälder.

However, the project is not only concerned with the forest itself, but also with the population in order to serve schools and cultivate crops. For example, work on the project not only Europeans but locals. The project from the Zurich Zoo is supported, this has to point a private Madagascar greenhouse founded by the people on the species diversity and uniqueness.

Since 2008, the Projet d' Analalava is an Austrian mounting position of foreign service.
