Ante Jazić

Ante Jazic ( born February 27, 1976 in Bedford, Nova Scotia ) is a Canadian soccer player of Croatian descent. The defender has since 2009 when the U.S. first division club CD Chivas USA under contract.

Club career

Ante Jazic played early in his career for a season at the amateur club Halifax King of Donair and a season with the football team from Dalhousie University. In 1997 he moved to Europe and went to Croatia, the country of origin of their parents. There he wrote at NK Hrvatski Dragovoljac, who was previously risen to the first HNL (first league). Due to its good performance, other clubs were aware of the Canadian and he went in 1999 to league rivals HNK Hajduk Split and record champions. In his season at Split he won the National Cup with the club. After this success Jazic joined the Austrian record champions SK Rapid Wien. By the year 2004, he won with his team but no significant title. Also the change to the Russian first division side FC Kuban Krasnodar was not associated with success, as the club relegated at the end of the 2004 season in the second division and he left this again soon. In 2006 Jazic returned to North America and moved to Los Angeles Galaxy in the first American League, where he played until December 2008, among other things on the side of David Beckham. Since January 2009, the Canadians playing for local rivals CD Chivas USA.

National

Ante Jazic denied since 1998 to date (July 2010) 24 caps for the Canadian national soccer team and it scored a goal. He made his debut at the age of 21, when he appeared as a substitute in the match against Macedonia.
