Anterior jugular vein

The anterior jugular vein ( " anterior jugular " ) is a paired, superficial vein of the neck.

The vein originates on the floor of the mouth and is usually more on the sternocleidomastoid muscle, or the musculus sternothyroideus. In most cases the right and left vein are preceded by a space suprasternal a venous arch, the Arcus venosus jugularis linked. The estuary is highly variable and occurs in the external jugular vein, internal jugular vein, subclavian vein or directly into the venous angle.

Compared to the other jugular veins of the neck ( internal jugular vein / externa), the anterior jugular vein is usually trained far weaker and variable in its course.
