Anthoni van Noordt

Anthoni (also: Antoni and Anthonie ) van Noordt (* 1619, † March 1675 ) was a Dutch organist and composer.

Anthoni van Noordt was the son of Sybrand van Noordt and the brother of James and Jan, Anthoni being by far the most famous member of this family is musical. Since he has stylistic resemblance to Jan Pieterszoon Sweelinck, he is attributed to the school this Amsterdam organist and composer. Van Noordt 1638 organist of the Nieuwe- Zijdskapel in Amsterdam and stayed until the 1664th Until 1673 he was organist then the Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam.

He became famous through his psalms fantasyen Tabulaturboeck s van, which was published in Amsterdam in 1659. This contains ten psalms and six fantasies in the style of Sweelinck.
