Anthony B

Anthony B, actually Keith Anthony Blair ( born March 31, 1976 in Clark 's Town, Jamaica ) is a Jamaican dancehall and reggae artist. His breakthrough came in 1995 with the song Fire Pon Rome and Warrior, since he is one of the most influential Jamaican singer and songwriter.

Life

Keith Blair grew up in a rural area on the Jamaican Trelawny Parish, where he arrived early for his Christian family with church music in touch. Nevertheless, he pursued at the time the current Jamaican music. Peter Tosh and Bob Marley his biggest idols; she would later impact on his musical style. In his youth, he turned to the Rastafarian religion. This decision was disapproved by his Christian family, so he moved to Portmore in 1992 to his aunt and uncle, where his musical career began.

Earlier in his career Keith Blair found a musical landscape that did not appeal to him: The texts of the Jamaican reggae artist negotiated primarily by guns and willing women. When he the producer Richard " Bell " Bello of Star Trail Records met in 1993, recognized this Anthony B's talent for song lyrics. Henceforth published Blair with his help, hits like Fire Pon Rome, Raid di barn, One Thing, Repentance Time and Rumour.

Anthony B is a devout Bobo Ashanti, a flow within the Rastafari religion. His deep belief is also reflected in his spiritual texts. He also sings about political injustice and the suffering of the poor people of Jamaica. He was not always without controversy: a stir as his song Fire Pon Rome, which is against the Roman Catholic Church. Since 1994, he has released many recordings.
