Anthony de Mello

Anthony de Mello ( born September 4, 1931 in Santa Cruz, Bombay, India, † June 1, 1987 in New York, USA) was Jesuit priest and spiritual teacher.

Overview

Anthony de Mello studied philosophy, theology and psychology and founded the Sadhana Institute in Lonavia (originally: Institute of Pastoral Counseling and Spirituality at the de Nobili College in Pune, India).

Anthony de Mello was mainly a multicultural embossed teacher who gave a humorous way live practical wisdom and stories from all religious teachings.

According to a notification of the Holy See of 1998, it had become increasingly removed from the acceptance of Jesus Christ as Son of God and the relevance of Scripture, so that parts of the theory de Mello's " are incompatible with the Catholic faith and can cause serious damage."
