Antidotes is the debut album by the English indie rock band Foals.

The album was released in the U.S. on March 24, 2008 by Transgressive Records in the UK, on 28 March 2008 by Warner in Germany and on April 8, 2008 by Sub Pop.

Recordings

The album was recorded in summer 2007 in the Stay Gold Studios in Brooklyn, was producer Dave Sittek, guitarist and keyboardist of the band TV on the Radio. With the recordings, however, the band was not happy for them they sounded when the album at the Grand Canyon would have been included, so they remixed the album in London were once themselves Foals criticized by fans that the two songs Hummer and Mathletics, the the band had made known not to be found on the album were.

Achievements

Antidotes debuted at number three on the UK album charts and was a great success. In the first week, selling 25,000 copies good and the Gold status was obtained. In the Top Heatseekers charts in the U.S., the album reached 28th place, but the entry into the U.S. album charts did not succeed. In contrast, this was in Japan (# 80 ), France ( # 84), The Netherlands (# 99 ) and New Zealand (# 99). The Singles Balloons (# 39), Cassius (# 26) and Red Socks Pugie (# 89) were also able to get into the UK Singles Chart.

In the annual charts of various music magazines Antidotes section also performed well. The NME sees the album at number 5, the Music Express on 14th and 9th place Intro Readers of Spex chose the album 's seventh best of the year.
