Antigama

Antigama is a grindcore band from Warsaw, Poland.

The musical style is referred to by the band themselves as avant-garde Grindcore. They combine classic grindcore with elements from other genres, mainly from technical death metal and industrial metal.

History

Antigama was founded by guitarist Sebastian Rokicki and drummer Krzysztof Bentkowski in Warsaw in 2000. After the singer and bass player Łukasz Myszkowski Macio Moretti joined the band began work on the first album Intellect Made Us Blind, which was released shortly afterwards. The group also gave a first live performances.

2002 left bassist Macio Moretti the band and was replaced by Michał Pietrasik.

With this lineup came other recordings that were released on various Split CDs and promo CDs. In August 2003, the band recorded their second album, Discomfort, for the first time with the help of producer Szymon Czech.

After the good reviews for their second album followed first festival appearances ( Obscene Extreme Festival, 2004 Giants Of Grind Festival, 2005). The Third Album Zeroland was released in late 2005.

This was followed by shots to further split CDs, and a performance at the biggest Polish metal festival Metal Mania. A little later, the band signed a contract with the U.S. record label Relapse Records. Here was released in May 2007, the latest album Resonance, again with Szymon Czech as a sound engineer and producer.
