Antigonus of Carystus

Antigonus of Carystus was a Greek writer of the 3rd century BC

Antigonus came from Carystus on the island of Euboea, and apparently lived for a time in Athens. He has written biographies of philosophers, the fragmentary when later authors ( Athenaeus, Diogenes Laertius ) are obtained, and work on visual arts.

Possible, but controversial is its identity with the Greek sculptor of the same name. This, he worked at the King Attalus I of Pergamum court as ore caster.
