Antoine Nicolas Duchesne

Antoine Nicolas Duchesne ( born October 7, 1747 in Versailles, † February 18, 1827 in Paris) was a French botanist. Its official botanical author abbreviation is " Duchesne ".

His particular interest was the strawberries. Duchesne worked among others in the parks of Versailles Palace, where he could put together an important collection of strawberries in the botanical garden of the Petit Trianon with the years.

Ehrentaxon

In honor of the genus Duchesnea Sm of the plants of the rose family is named ( Rosaceae ).
