Antonio Beduzzi

Antonio Maria Niccolò Beduzzi (* 1675 in Bologna, † March 4, 1735 in Vienna ) was an Italian theater engineer, painter and decorator and architect.

Life

Antonio Beduzzi worked mainly in Upper Austria ( Lambach, Linz) and Lower Austria ( Melk, Maria Taferl, Dürnstein ). The " Castra Doloris " bodies for the funeral of Emperor Leopold I (1705 ) and Joseph I. (1711 ), come from him. He is also considered the architect of the Viennese palace Hatzenberg - Fürstenberg.

In 1708 he followed as a theater engineer Lodovico Burnacini at the Viennese court. He built the theater on Kärntnertor and until 1710 worked at the Court Opera as a decorative painter. To 1710 to 1730 he built the castle on the mountain Leopold and advanced the chapel at Leopold mountain to a church. The frescoes in the Great Hall of the Palais Lower Austria are considered his major work.

Furthermore, it is worth mentioning that he was the son of the Vienna Court Music Director Marc ' Antonio Ziani.
