António Carreira

António Carreira (* 1525 in Portugal, † 1592 in Lisbon ) was a Portuguese composer and organist.

Even as a child he trained as a singer in the Royal Chapel in Lisbon and remained this ensemble - and later as organist and conductor - until his death faithful.

He is considered one of the best organists of his time, however, are from him only a few compositions - predominantly Organ Works - receive.
