Antonio de Zamora

Antonio de Zamora, full name Antonio de Zamora y Calderón de la Barca, (* 1660 in Madrid, † 1728 in Madrid) was a Spanish playwright.

Life

The followers of Charles II of Spain was Poet Laureate from 1694 at the Spanish court and later chamberlain of Philip V, he wrote his plays in the style of Calderon.

  • Muerte en amor es la ausencia (Madrid, 1697 ) - a comedy in three acts
  • Any period expires and every debt is paid and The Stone Guest ( No hay que no se plazo cumpla ni deuda que no se pague y convidado de piedra ) (1714 or 1722) - an early treatment of the Don Juan theme, in which the output is already left open.
