Antonio Iannucci

Antonio Iannucci ( born June 13, 1914 in Bolognano, Province of Pescara, Italy, † October 14, 2008 in Pescara, Italy) was Archbishop of Pescara - Penne.

Life

Antonio Iannucci studied after the visit of the Almo Collegio Capranica in Rome Catholic theology at the Pontifical Gregorian University. He received in 1938 the ordination to the priesthood in the Church of St. Augustine in Chieti, where he was also active as a pastor.

In 1955 he became Pope Pius XII. appointed Titular Bishop of Hadriania and appointed auxiliary bishop in the diocese of Penne Pescara. The episcopal ordination was donated to him on May 8, 1955. 1959 was made by John XXIII. the appointment as Bishop of Penne Pescara. With the elevation of the diocese to the Metropolitan seat by John Paul II in March 1982, he was appointed the first Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Pescara - Penne. His resignation was accepted by Pope John Paul II in 1990.

Iannucci has given numerous lectures and published articles on biblical content, and to cultural and socio-religious topics. He was involved for 12 years for the television network "Tele Mare ".
