Antonio Juliano

Antonio Juliano ( born January 1, 1943 in Naples ) is a former Italian footballer.

Club career

Antonio Juliano played almost his entire career at Napoli. At age 19 he made his debut in the first team of the Neapolitans. He was twice runner-up in 1976 and won the Italian Cup. In 1978, Juliano for a year to FC Bologna and let finish his career there.

International career

International gave Antonio Juliano his debut for Italy in 1966. He participated in three World Cups ( 1966 ( Eliminated in the group stage ), 1970 ( finals ), 1974 ( Eliminated in the group stage ) ) as a replacement part, but completed just one single game. This was the finale of 1970, when Italy lost to Brazil and he replaced. In his only 1968 European Championship on home soil Juliano won the title. Under coach Ferruccio Valcareggi he had denied all six qualifiers against Romania, Switzerland and Cyprus, and also stood on the side of captain Giacinto Facchetti in the quarterfinal against Bulgaria in April 1968 in the successful team. The only won 2-0 in the replay of the finals on June 10 in Rome against Yugoslavia he was missing through injury.
