Antonio Páez

Antonio Páez Montero ( born September 5, 1956 in Arenas del Rey, Granada Province ) is a former Spanish middle distance runner, who specializes in the 800 -meter distance.

In the Indoor Athletics European Championships, he was in 1977 in San Sebastián sixth and won gold in 1979 in Vienna.

In 1980 he reached the semi-finals at the Olympic Games in Moscow. One bronze medal at the European Indoor Championships 1981 in Grenoble followed gold at the European Indoor Championships in Milan in 1982.

In 1978 he was Spanish champion. In the hall he won the national title in 1976 over 400 m and 1977 and 1979 on 800 m.
