Antonio Triva

Antonio Domenico Triva (* 1626 in Reggio Emilia, † 1699 in Munich) was an Italian painter of the Baroque era.

Triva was a pupil of Guercino in Bologna. He has worked in Piacenza, Rovigo, Padua, Brescia, Turin and Venice.

In 1670 he was called to Munich, where he remained until his death from the Elector Ferdinand Maria of Bavaria and his wife Henriette Adelaide of Savojen. In Bavaria, he was appointed court painter to the Wittelsbach family. His paintings adorn the Schloss Nymphenburg, the Munich Residenz and the Theatinerkirche. His sister Flaminia Triva assisted him.
