Antonovo

Antonowo (also Antonovo written (Bulgarian: Антоново ) ) is a town in northeastern Bulgaria. The city is located in the oblast Targovishte near the cities Straschiza and Slatariza. The town has about 1553 inhabitants.

Economy

The inhabitants in Antonowo and the surrounding villages are still very active in the field of agriculture. In the region an unemployment rate of 52.12 % was noted. This is due to the age structure in the city. The majority form the population over 65 years.

The community presents a development strategy in which the development of the economy, improving infrastructure, increasing agricultural production and tourism should be the focus. Thus, the citizens hope for a reduction in the unemployment rate.
