Anvil (game engine)
Anvil ( before 2008 Scimitar ) is a game engine by Ubisoft for computer and console games. The engine through the game Assassin's Creed or Prince of Persia became famous.

Difference Scimitar and Anvil
The engine was changed with respect to the start of development of Assassin 's Creed II in Anvil because the engine has improved graphically.
To the graphic enhancements include:
- Day and night cycle
- Vegetation Technology
- Improved rendering
- Improved lighting and reflections

- Improved AI
- Advanced detection environment ( Used for climbing )
AnvilNext
AnvilNext is the successor of Anvil, which is being developed in December 2010 by Ubisoft Montreal. The new engine was first used in the published in October 2012 Assassin's Creed III.

- Improved nature, forests, footprints in the snow, etc.
- Detailed faces
- Up to 2,000 NPC (Non- Player Character such soldiers) on the screen ( previously 100)
- Complex and realistic animations
