ANZ Bank New Zealand

The ANZ National Bank Limited ( ANZ), based in Wellington, is a subsidiary of Australian Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited and two occurring independently banks, currently by far the largest banking company in New Zealand.

The two banks, ANZ New Zealand and The National Bank of New Zealand Limited, escape to the outside as a stand-alone banks, but are now operating only under different brands banks of a joint venture of ANZ National Bank Limited.

History

The history of the ANZ National Bank Limited in New Zealand, is closely associated with a few differences with the Australia and New Zealand Bank Limited and its two predecessors, the Bank of Australasia and the Union Bank of Australia Limited.

As in 1951 in London, the Bank of Australasia and the Union Bank of Australia Limited merged, the companies followed in Australia and New Zealand successively for adapted national laws. In London, Australia and New Zealand emerged as the Australia and New Zealand Bank Limited.

After the merger with the English, Scottish and Australian Bank Limited, the name of the bank changed in Australia in Australia and New Zealand Banking Group Limited and ANZ Banking Group in New Zealand (New Zealand) Limited. After some further acquisitions in New Zealand, then finally the coup took place in 2003, the National Bank of New Zealand to take over by the Lloyds TSB and thus to be the undisputed number one in the New Zealand banking market. On 26 June 2004, the National Bank of New Zealand and trans-ferred into the 2 days later renamed ANZ National Bank Limited.
