Apache Junction is a city in Pinal County in the U.S. state of Arizona.
Location
Because of U.S. Highway 60 and the Apache Trail intersect here, the city of Apache Junction was called. The city of Phoenix is located 50 kilometers away. Meanwhile, however, has grown into the region by Phoenix and its neighboring cities of the place.
History
Due to its location on the outskirts of Phoenix ' to Apache Junction developed into a school and commercial center. Characteristic of this very young place is also its seasonal " breathing ": depending on the season, the population varies considerably. During the winter months the snow fall in their thousands and frost volatile pensioners with their mobile homes and caravans from the "cold" states in the north, in order then to hot summer to travel back in for them. Huge permanent sites available - for these repetitive yearly migrations are in Apache Junction - as in many places in the Sunbelt. The retiree groups are an important economic factor for the visiting places.
Attractions
Nearby are the Superstition Mountains lie. The Tonto National Forest is also nearby (about 22 km).
