Apelsberg

The Apelsberg is 780 m above sea level. NHN high mountains of the Thuringian Slate Mountains in the district Saalfeld- Rudolstadt, Thuringia ( Germany ).

It is located southwest of the community in the light of Thuringian Forest Nature Park and forms the watershed in the source area of the light between Ash creek and the Little light. Neighboring mountains are Rücker Biel ( 756 m ) to the west, the cock mountain ( 686 m) and the Mutzenberg (770 m) in the north and the rough hill ( 801.9 m) and the Mittelberg ( 803.6 m) in the east.

The Apelsberg is the north-eastern foothills of the Massif Eisenberg. On the south side of the mountain the Rennsteig runs. The crest is located in the city of Neuhaus am Rennweg and thus even in the district of Sonneberg.
