Apple is a municipality with 1150 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in the district court district Mur and Jews Castle in Styria. From 1 January 2015 it is merged in the Styrian municipality structural reform with the community Knittel field, the new community will be named " Knittel field " to continue.

Geography
Geographical Location
Apple Mountain is located at the northern foot of the 818 meter high Gmeinberges. The municipal area extends from the southern edge of the city Knittel field over the Aichfeld with the City Country chess up to the foothills of the Gleinalpe in the south. The lowest point is at 630 m above sea level on the Mur River, the highest point at 1178 m.

The municipality comprises the cadastral apple mountain.

History
The Volunteer Fire Mountain Apple was founded in 1925.
Population
The municipality had 2001 1086 inhabitants according to the census. 97.8 % of the population possess Austrian citizenship. For the Roman Catholic Church to 75.0 % of the population profess the Protestant Church 4.3%, 17.4 % have no religious confession.

Coat of arms
The award of the municipality coat of arms was made with effect from 1 July 1981. Blazon (Coat of Arms description). " In silver shield with growing gezinnter blue lace in trefoil erupting lilies in confused colors "
Culture and sights
In apple mountain are the ruins isolated farm, a former Wehrhof.
Economy and infrastructure
According to Census of 2001, there are 30 workplaces with 206 employees in the community as well as 400 and 151 commuter commuters. There are 25 agricultural and forestry holdings (including 13 in the main acquisition ), which together manage 878 ha ( 1999).
In country Chess is an elementary school.
