Apis cerana nuluensis
The Asian Mountain bee Apis nuluensis ( Tingek, Koeniger and Koeniger 1996) is one of the eight Asian and nine world honey bee species. It occurs in Malaysia and Borneo, and lives exclusively in mountain forests from 1800 m to 3400 m, where exist no other honey bees more. Their nests with several parallel mutually perpendicular honeycomb it builds in caves.
System
According to a publication of Engel (1999 ) is in the Asian mountain bee not a separate species, but only a subspecies ( race) of occurring in a large area of distribution Eastern honey bee ( Apis cerana ). Nevertheless, in many recent publications nor the previous Latin name Apis Apis cerana nuluensis nuluensis and not used.
