Apocalyptic Love is the second studio album of Velvet Revolver and former Guns N 'Roses guitarist Slash. Unlike its predecessor, the album was not recorded with several singers. Only Alter Bridge singer Myles Kennedy can be heard on the album. Other musicians were also the bassist Todd Kerns and drummer Brent Fitz ( called The Conspirators to German: The co-conspirators ).

Genesis

On the tour to Slash's self-titled debut album 2010/2011 Myles Kennedy was represented as a singer. He had also contributed two songs to the all-star collaboration. Slash therefore decided to record his second album with Kennedy. Since he recorded the album with a singer, he was a long time not sure if he release the album under his name only, or should give a new name to the project.

Work on the album began in June 2011. In December, three finished songs as Bad Rain, Standing in the Sun and were dubbed Halo, the Slash described as " very hard". The work was completed in February 2012 and shortly after May 22 specified as Date in the U.S.. The album tour began in March.

On February 27, the first single You're a Lie was released and made ​​it to number 23 of the rock song list by Billboard. The accompanying music video was posted on the Internet on May 15. The track list of the album Slash released on March 5. More singles was standing in the Sun, Bad Rain and Anastasia. To all singles except for Standing in the Sun, it was also music videos.

Michael Edele of Laut.de described Apocalyptic Love as nearly " perfect summer album ," which at any time "organic and authentic " sounds. He forgave four out of five stars.
