The Apocynoideae are a subfamily in the plant family of the dogbane family ( Apocynaceae ). In this subfamily, there are some species whose varieties are used as ornamental plants.

Description

Appearance and leaves

In the family includes some trees, shrubs and herbaceous plants, but especially lianas and succulent. Many species contain a (mostly clear ) milk juice. The majority of the species is evergreen. The opposite or change-constant leaves are simple and entire, usually. Stipules are present or absent.

Inflorescences, flowers and fruits

There are usually formed Rispige inflorescences.

The hermaphrodite, radial symmetry flowers are four - or fünfzählig with a double perianth. The four or five sepals are green. The usually five petals are fused Roehrig or funnel-shaped. It's just a circle with five free or grown together, fertile stamens present. The stamens are fused with the carpels. The ovary is. It is a discus available.   • Vallariopsis lancifolia ( Hook.f. ) Woodson: It is widespread in western Malaysia's.
