Apollo 100

Apollo 100 was a British instrumental band that released two albums in 1972. The group was founded by arranger Tom Parker. Other members were the former drummer Clem Cattini Tornados, Vic Flick and the guitarist Zed Jenkins, percussionist Jim Lawless and bassist Brian Odgers. The title Joy there from 1972 at number 6 on the U.S. charts. Since it was not possible to repeat this success, the band split in 1973 again.

Joy uses a continuous triplet accompaniment, the multiple takes on the accompanying figure of the final chorus from Bach's Cantata Heart and Mouth and Deed and Life; at one point the first choral line is quoted (for three- four-four time from bent ). This choral Good for me that I have Jesus is very well known in the English-speaking world and is sung in the text Jesus, Joy of Man's Desiring.
