Appius Claudius Pulcher (consul 212 BC)

Appius Claudius Pulcher ( * before 250 BC; † 211 BC ) was a politician of the Roman Republic.

Claudius Pulcher was active in the Second Punic War and held the praetorship 215. It was in the year 214 BC governor of Sicily and commanded Marcus Claudius Marcellus, together with the year 213 BC when the Carthaginians had landed there, an expedition to the island. Appius Claudius Pulcher was consul in 212 BC and besieged the city of Capua, which was used during the Second Battle of Capua. Claudius Pulcher died as proconsul after the fall of the city 211 BC He had a son named Publius Claudius Pulcher.
