Apple scruffs

The Apple Scruffs were a small group of (mostly female ) Beatles fans to meet each other in the hope that the Beatles and to talk with them, assembled Apple and Abbey Road Studios regularly before the building of the company. The English word " scruffy " means " unkempt ", " Apple Scruffs " would therefore translate as with " the Apple Bum ".

The Beatles themselves were wont a friendly relationship with this group. Two " Apple Scruffs " could sing along on February 4, 1968 even with a Beatles song ( "Across the Universe") and George Harrison later wrote a song entitled " Apple Scruffs ", which appeared on his solo album All Things Must Pass.

" Apple Scruffs, how I love you. In the fog and in the rain, through the pleasure and the pain. On the step outside you stand, with flowers in your hands. "
