Arcadia (Band)

After the release of " A View to a Kill ", the title song of the same name James Bond film ( German title: "In the face of death " ), Simon Le Bon, Roger Taylor and Nick Rhodes founded by Duran Duran mid-1985 the side project Arcadia to far away from Duran Duran music to experiment and try new sound paths.

History

The first single Election Day was published in late summer 1985, before arriving in the United States and Great Britain in the Top 10 hit.

With the only album So Red the Rose Arcadia managed an unexpected platinum success, supported by guest appearances from Grace Jones, Sting, Herbie Hancock and David Gilmour in autumn 1985.

As more singles, the title The Promise and The Flame has been released as singles in the spring of 1986.

The project ended in summer 1986, when Duran Duran came together to play along to the album " Notorious " again and Roger Taylor announced his ( temporary) exit from the music business.
